The Recon Helmet is Six Six One's mid-tier mountain lid whose only limitations are the kind of shuttle runs that require full-face coverage and moto armor. If your bike doesn't have a dual-crown fork and eight inches of rear travel, the Recon's in-mold polycarbonate shell is more than equal to any of the terrain you'll encounter. The standard Recon's inclusion of a Boa 270° fit system is an upgrade compared to the similar Recon Scout helmet, and it means that the shell's reinforced body will always be held securely in the right place when you need it — namely, between you and a hard place.
The Recon's body is built to accommodate goggles and glasses, so eye protection can be tailored to the sun, dust, muck, or overcast deluge of any given day. The interior is finished with a complement of antimicrobial pad liners that absorb sweat and fight off odors, and the body is shot through with ventilating channels to help keep static moisture to a minimum.
